Finance Systems Specialist

Job Summary

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, solutions-driven Finance Systems Specialist to join our team on a part-time contract basis. This role is critical in supporting our finance and operations teams by resolving integration issues between CMap and Sage Intacct, while also ensuring day-to-day finance processes run smoothly.

You'll be responsible for untangling system inconsistencies, improving process efficiency, and ensuring data flows accurately across platforms. Alongside this systems focus, you'll also support key transactional tasks such as invoice processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

This is a hands-on role that blends technical problem-solving with solid finance execution, ideal for someone confident working across tools like Sage, CMap, and Excel, and experienced in streamlining finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve integration and process issues between CMap and Sage Intacct to ensure consistent, accurate data syncing across finance, project management, and reporting functions, while using both systems to process financial transactions, manage data flows, and generate accurate reports.
• The ability to challenge current processes and make recommendations which may involve identifying additional software.
• Accurately post supplier invoices, employee expenses, and company credit card transactions in a timely manner.
• Maintain and reconcile accounts payable records, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all entries.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice, payment, and job cost queries efficiently.
• Support month-end and year-end tasks, including supplier reconciliations and preparation for audit processes.
• Assist with general data reporting and ensure all financial records are up to date, well-organized, and audit-ready.
• Identify and implement process improvements; contribute to documentation and support finance best practices.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and experience

• Proven experience in finance systems support, particularly with Sage (Intacct or Line 50) is essential; experience with CMap is highly desirable
• Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, principles, and compliance, including a basic understanding of VAT
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong data entry and reconciliation skills
• Solid working knowledge of Excel for reporting and data analysis
• Excellent problem-solving ability with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders
