We’re seeking a talented Associate Principal Medical Writer to join us who embraces autonomy while exhibiting scientific leadership and excellent communication, teamworking, and collaboration with internal colleagues and external contacts. This is a pivotal role within the team, where you’ll provide broad and deep specialist scientific and medical writing capability with a high degree of autonomy and leadership. The role is perfect for someone who thrives on becoming a therapy area expert, leading the scientific development of complex projects, pitches and proposals, as well as providing in-depth scientific review.
The role will involve:
· Applying in-depth understanding of several therapeutic areas, and offering scientific leadership and support to members of the content team, with the ability to lead efforts to quickly and effectively acquire comprehensive new knowledge and share it with colleagues
· Providing confident leadership on a wide range of project types, producing accurate, concise and insightful material, and adapting writing style for different audiences and formats
· Adeptly and confidently researching, interpreting and integrating scientific data from multiple sources, fact-checking to ensure delivery to the highest scientific standards, and mentoring more junior colleagues on these skills
· Performing internal review of materials and ensuring the delivery of accurate, concise and insightful material across a wide range of project types, audiences and formats
· Collaborating with account management, creative, and digital teams to scope work, and deliver it to budget and deadline
· Effective interaction with clients, thought leaders and external teams, providing on-site or virtual medical writing support for meetings/events
In order to succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
· Proven medical writing experience in medical communications or medical education in an agency setting
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational and planning with the ability to produce high-quality work efficiently
· A proactive, problem-solving mindset and enthusiasm for communicating science to improve patient outcomes
· A life science degree, or equivalent, is essential; higher degrees are desirable
· Prior experience in the fields of immunology, cardiometabolic health, neuroscience, and/or oncology will be advantageous
· High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint
